Tangier to Marrakech: An 8-Day Adventure Through Morocco

Embark on a mesmerizing 8-day journey from Tangier to Marrakech, where the tapestry of Morocco unfolds in its northern wonders, imperial cities, and the enchanting Sahara Desert. Travel in comfort through diverse landscapes, weaving through cities, valleys, kasbahs, and the iconic Merzouga desert, all while immersing yourself in the rich history and vibrant culture of Morocco.

 

Day 1: Tangier – Chefchaouen

Your adventure begins as we meet you at Tangier port or airport, driving through the picturesque Rif mountains to Chefchaouen. Nestled at the feet of the Rif mountains, Chefchaouen captivates with its Spanish-style square, artsy stores, and rooftop cafes. Enjoy the evening breeze in this charming village, spending the night in a delightful place amidst nature.

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

After breakfast, our authentic journey takes us to Volubilis via Wazan and Rif villages. Explore the Roman ruins, delve into Moroccan history, and proceed to Meknes, a 17th-century heritage. Lunch amidst the historical medina walls and a visit to Moulay Ismail’s shrine precede our journey to Fes, where you’ll spend the night.

Day 3: Fes Sightseeing

Explore Fes, the oldest city in Morocco, discovering its alleys, historic sites, and cultural treasures. Visit the Royal Palace gate, Jewish headquarters, and landmarks like Al Qaraouine University. After lunch, explore the tiles cooperative and enjoy a panoramic view of Fes Medina.

Day 4: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga – Camel ride

Travel to Merzouga via the Tiz Ntalghamt pass, Ziz Gorge, Errachidia, and Erfoud. Witness the changing scenery as hints of the desert emerge. Arrive in Merzouga for a camel ride to a desert camp, with Berber music, sandboarding, and an overnight stay under the stars.

Day 5: Merzouga – Toudra Gorges – Dades Valley

Witness a Sahara sunrise and camel ride back to the hotel. Journey through Saghro mountains and explore Todra Gorge. Arrive in Dades Valley for dinner and an overnight stay in a charming Riad/hotel.

Day 6: Dades Valley – Roses valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas mountain – Marrakech

Travel through the Dades Valley, Kalaat M’gouna, Ouarzazat, and the Valley of Roses. Visit Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO heritage site, before crossing the High Atlas mountains. Arrive in Marrakech late afternoon, marking the end of the day.

Day 7: Marrakech Sightseeing

Explore Marrakech, the “red city of Morocco,” visiting historical sites like the Majorelle Gardens, Koutoubia Tower, Saadian tombs, and Bahia Palace. Wander through the souks, experience local crafts, and have free time to explore.

Day 8: Transfer to Casablanca Airport

Spend the morning at leisure in Marrakech before heading to Casablanca in the mid-afternoon. Arrive in Casablanca by 4 pm or at your preferred time. End the trip with a tapestry of memories.
