DAY 1: MARRAKECH – AIT BEN HADDOU – OUARZAZATE – MERZOUGA DESERT
We will depart early from Marrakech, crossing the scenic Tizi n’Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains. Next, we will visit the famous UNESCO site of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, an ancient fortified village. Then we continue through Ouarzazate, the gateway to the Sahara, and the Dades Valley before arriving at Merzouga. Here, we embark on a camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes, enjoy the desert sunset, and spend the night in a traditional Berber camp with local music and dinner under the stars.
Day 2: Merzouga – Camel Trek – Middle Atlas Mountains – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes
Begin your day with an unforgettable sunrise over the desert sands, followed by a hearty breakfast at the camp. Embark on a camel trek back to the meeting point where your 4×4 vehicle will be waiting. Depart Merzouga and drive through the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains, making stops to admire the natural beauty of the region. Visit the cedar forests near Azrou, home to the playful Barbary macaques in their natural habitat. Continue to Ifrane, famously known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” where you can enjoy a brief walk in this charming alpine-style town. Finally, arrive in Fes in the evening, concluding your immersive journey across Morocco’s diverse landscapes.
